Two Passages

A fictional dialogue between two artists, a persistent image of a famous lighthouse and the story of a sculptor intertwine.

An experimental textual contribution to the Canadian Art’s Tangents: Winter 2021 Issue, comprised entirely of writings by artists. This work explores text as object. It grapples with a ‘failure to frame’ during the process of making, leaning on rhythm amidst processual ruptures to offer transient support structures within the text. Accompanying images include research material and studio proofs spanning 2018-2020. See water over marsh (2022) for a continuation of this body of work.
